Why my YouTube source doesn't work

Sometimes when you are trying to add your source to the YouTube Gallery widget, you may face an issue when only a couple of your videos are displayed or none of them appear at all. In addition to that, you may get the following error message - “There are no videos in this group”:

What causes this issue

Basically, there are two reasons causing this issue:

  1. The source URL is incorrect. Here you can find how to add your playlist to the widget correctly.
  2. Your YouTube source has access restrictions. YouTube allows its users to set privacy settings for their playlists, as well as for the individual videos. There are three types of video sharing access: Public (Anyone can search for and view), Unlisted (Anyone with the link can view), and Private (Only author can view). Our YouTube Gallery widget supports only public content. That's why some of your videos or even all of them are not displayed in the widget.

Checking Privacy Settings

It is essential to make sure that your videos and playlists are fully public. Please follow the steps below to find it out.

For a specific video:

1

Sign in to YouTube Studio

2

Select Content from the menu on the left

3

In the Videos tab, point to the video you'd like to update

4

Click the current access type in the Visibility column

5

Change the access type to Public and save the changes

For a playlist:

1

Sign in to YouTube Studio

2

From the left menu, select Playlists

3

Find the playlist that you'd like to update and click Edit in YouTube

4

In the Playlist's header, click the Playlist privacy drop-down menu

5

Change the access type to Public and click Save

All done! Once the access type is set to Public, the videos should appear in your widget within the next 24 hours.
