Creating and Managing Elfsight Widgets for Clients

Working with clients? Whether you’re a designer, developer, or agency, you can easily create and manage Elfsight widgets for them. In this article, we’ll explore the various options for working with client widgets so you can choose the workflow that best suits your needs.

Managing Client Widgets from Your Account

The simplest option is to manage everything under your own Elfsight account. Just create and set up widgets as usual, then install them on your client’s website.

To stay organized, you can group widgets into Projects — special folders within your workspace. This helps you easily see which widgets belong to which client:

Please note that this feature is available starting from the Pro plan and higher — Pricing.
To learn more about Projects, refer to this guide — Projects: Getting Started.

Payment and subscription terms in this case should be agreed directly between you and your client.

If your clients want to view or edit their widgets, here's how you can share access depending on your subscription plan:

  • Pro plan: Invite clients as Account Members (they access your entire workspace).
  • Premium & Enterprise plans: In addition to Account Members, you can add Project Members (give access only to specific projects).

For a full guide on sharing options, check out this article — Sharing access to your Elfsight account and widgets.

You can also let your client take the lead: they create their own account and add you as a member. This way, you can manage their widgets directly in their account — no need to share your workspace.

Moving Widgets to a Client's Account

You've created a widget or subscription under your account and now want your client to manage it? No worries — we can transfer it to their account for you!

Only a few simple steps are required. Here's what you need to do:

1

Ask your client to register their own Elfsight account. They can follow this guide: Creating an Elfsight Account.

On the Free plan, each app supports only one widget. If you need to transfer more widgets, your client will need to subscribe to a paid plan before the transfer.
2

Once the client's account is set up, reach out to Elfsight Support with the following info:

  • Your account email (transfer from)
  • Your client's account email (transfer to)
  • The widget name or widget ID.

After the transfer, your client will have full control of the widget and can manage everything themselves. 🎉

Transferring Full Account Ownership

Ready to hand over full ownership of the account to your client? We’ve got you covered!

If you’re on the Free plan, simply update the account email to your client’s address. Here’s a guide to help you — Changing the login email for your Elfsight Apps account.

If you have a paid subscription that the client will manage from now on, follow these steps:

1

Contact Elfsight Support to get a link for updating billing details. You’ll need to provide a new billing email address during this step.

Note that the email address for receiving invoices and payment notifications can only be updated on our end.
2

Share the link with your client so they can switch to their own payment method.

3

After your client updates billing, change the Elfsight account email to their address — Changing the login email for your Elfsight Apps account.

4

Ask your client to reset the password to finish the transfer.

After completing these steps, your client will fully own the account, including billing and subscription management.
