Sharing Access to Your Elfsight Account and Widgets

Sharing access to your Elfsight account and widgets is a great way to collaborate with others and manage content together. This guide will walk you through how to share access and help you pick the best option for your needs.

Ways to Share Access

Elfsight provides two main ways to share access to your account, depending on what you need:

  • Account Members: Typically used for your team members, this option gives full access to your Elfsight account. Account members can manage widgets, view statistics, and handle subscriptions (like changing plans).
  • Project Members: This option is for sharing widgets with clients or collaborators on specific projects. Project members can only access the widgets within the projects they’ve been invited to.

Anyone with access, whether through Account Members or Project Members, is called a "collaborator." The table below clearly outlines what each type of collaborator can do, so you can keep control over your account’s settings and widgets.

Feature Account Members Project Members
Access to widgets Full access to all widgets in the account Access only to widgets shared within a project
Can create widgets Yes No
Can edit widgets Yes Yes, but only for widgets shared with them
Can delete widgets Yes No
Access to View Statistics Yes No
Can manage subscription Yes No
Available Plans Pro, Premium, Enterprise Premium, Enterprise

To learn more about each feature and how to set up these sharing options, refer to the detailed guides below for Account Members and Project Members.

Account Members (For Team Members)

The Account Members feature is designed for your team members who need full access to your Elfsight account. With this level of access, they can manage important aspects of your account, such as accessing views statistics, creating and editing widgets, and managing your subscription (like changing plans). However, they won't have access to your personal settings, including Profile, Notifications, or Account & Security settings.

This feature is available on Pro, Premium, and Enterprise plans. For more details, see the Plans Comparison: Features Availability and Limits section.
The person you're inviting needs to have an Elfsight account to accept your invitation and work on the shared widgets. If they don’t have an account yet, they can sign up here.

Here’s how you can use the feature:

Share Access
1
In your Elfsight account, click the Invite Members button:
2

2
Select the workspace you want to switch to:

Project Members (For Clients)

The Project Members feature allows you to share specific widgets with others, typically clients or external collaborators. Instead of granting full access to your entire account, you can invite people to work on individual projects, giving them access only to the widgets you choose to share. This helps you keep full control over your account while collaborating on specific tasks.

This feature is available on Premium and Enterprise plans. For more details, see the Plans Comparison: Features Availability and Limits section.

Plans Comparison: Features and Limits

Here’s a breakdown of what each plan includes. This will help you decide which plan is best based on the number of collaborators and projects you need, as well as whether or not widget sharing is available.

Plan (Single App or Pack) Collaborators* Projects** Project Members
Pro 1 collaborator 3 projects No
Premium 3 collaborators 9 projects Yes
Enterprise T1 3 collaborators 15 projects Yes
Enterprise T2 3 collaborators 30 projects Yes
Enterprise T3 3 collaborators 60 projects Yes
Enterprise T4 3 collaborators 120 projects Yes
(*) The number of Collaborators refers to the total number of people you can invite, whether they're Account Members or Project Members.
(*) The number of Projects refers to how many separate projects you can create. This limit is separate from the number of collaborators you can invite. For example, with the Enterprise T2 plan, you can create up to 30 projects, but you can only invite 3 collaborators in total to access those projects.

Remember, this is just one factor to consider when selecting your plan. For a complete feature comparison, check out our Pricing page.

If you find that you need more collaborators than your plan currently offers but don't want to upgrade, feel free to reach out to our Support team. We're happy to help customize your plan and increase the collaborator limit to better suit your needs. 🤝

FAQ

Here are some common questions related to sharing access process.

Is it possible to share the same project with different collaborators?

Yes, you can share the same project with multiple collaborators. However, all collaborators will have access to the same set of widgets within that project. Each collaborator will be able to manage or view the widgets included in the project as the widget access is not customizable per individual.

What happens if a collaborator doesn’t accept my invitation?

If your collaborator doesn’t accept the invitation, they won’t be able to access the project or widgets. You can remove the invitation if needed.

Is it possible to assign different roles to collaborators within a project?

Currently, all collaborators within a project have the same access level. We do not support different roles or permissions within a project.

Can I share a widget with collaborators even if they are not on the same plan?

Yes, you can share widgets across different plans. There are no restrictions based on the plan of the collaborator, as long as they have an Elfsight account.

What if I want to revoke access after sending the invitation?

If you change your mind after sending an invitation, you can remove the invite in the Members section of your account. Just find the person you invited and click Remove Member to revoke their access:
