Instagram Feed Connection Types: Benefits and Differences
The Instagram Feed widget supports several connection types, including accounts, hashtags, mentions, and Instagram authorization.
This article explains the differences between these connection types and their benefits.
Instagram Source Types
Account, Hashtag, and Mentions & Tags (Public)
With these public connection types, no Instagram login is required. Select Account, Hashtag, or Mentions & Tags, enter your source, and click Add:

The Account, Hashtag, and Mentions & Tags types only work with public Instagram accounts (open to everyone, with no age or country restrictions).

All three types show like and comment counts on posts. With the Account type, you can also enable the widget header to display posts, followers, and accounts followed:

Business (API)
If you're connecting a profile, you can use our Business connection type. With this option, you connect the source by authorizing through your Instagram account:

- Requires Instagram authorization (API connection).

- Allows access to private or restricted profiles not available via Public connection.
