Using filters in Instagram Feed

If you want to customize the content displayed in your Instagram Feed widget, such as excluding certain posts, showing only specific ones, or limiting the number of posts, you can use filters to achieve this.

In this article

To set a filter, go to Filters at the bottom of the Sources tab. The Filters tab will appear once you have set the source of your widget:

If your widget was created before August 5, 2024, the settings on the Sources tab will look slightly different.

As you can see, the app has two filter options available: Show Posts Containing and Hide Posts Containing:

Show Posts Containing

This filter allows you to narrow down the selection of images in your feed.

For example, you can set a username as the source of your widget and then add a specific hashtag to the Show Posts Containing filter. The feed will then display only those images from the specified account that include the designated hashtag:

If you set a hashtag as the source of your feed and try to filter by username, the widget won't collect posts. This is because Instagram doesn't provide usernames for hashtag sources.

Hide Posts Containing

This filter prevents images associated with a particular keyword or URL from appearing in your feed.

It is especially useful when your source hashtag is too generic, allowing you to ensure that only the most relevant posts are displayed:

Total Number of posts to display

The Filters tab also lets you control the number of images to showcase. By setting a limit (e.g., 5), the widget will display the 5 most recent posts from the specified source:

Now that you know how to use the Filters option, we hope it helps you customize your widget to fit your preferences perfectly šŸ˜Š
