Reasons to reconnect

Your Facebook Feed widget may need reconnection if its session token expires. This can occur due to:

  • Significant changes to your Facebook account, such as a password or username update
  • Facebook resetting the token for its own reasons

In either case, you'll need to obtain a new token by reconnecting the widget.

Easy steps to reconnect your widget

Follow these steps to get a new token for your widget:

1
Log into your Facebook account and Remove Elfsight permissions here:
2
Log out of your Facebook account (do not log back in yet - this is important).
3
Open the widget's settings, click Connect to Facebook and proceed with authorization:
4
After entering your login and password, a popup screen should appear. Click Edit Access and switch on all toggles within the Edit Requested Access window:
5
Click Continue as:
6
Choose the necessary page from the dropdown and Publish the changes:
If you manage all your Facebook pages under one profile, you don’t need to repeat this process for each feed. However, other Facebook Feed widgets will be disconnected after you remove permissions, so you may need to revisit them. By clicking Connect in these widgets, the reconnection will happen automatically.

Congratulations! You have successfully reconnected your widget to your Facebook account 😊
