Providing access to your Google Tag Manager account

Elfsight Support Team may occasionally need temporary access to your Google Tag Manager (GTM) account to install your widget or resolve functionality issues.

This guide will show you how to grant us access and remove it when it's no longer required.

Providing access

To grant us access to your Google Tag Manager account, you need to add a new temporary user. Here is how you can do it.

1

Go to the Google Tag Manager homepage, select the account you want to share access to, and click on ⚙️ next to it:

2

Navigate to the Admin tab and click on User Management:

3

Within Account permissions, click ➕ and select Add users:

4

In the Send invitations menu, do the following:

  • Email addresses (1) → add [email protected]
  • Account permissions (2) → check the User option

5

In Container permissions, click Set all and check all the boxes next to each permission category (Publish, Approve, Edit, Read):

6

Ensure that the invitation has been properly configured and click Invite:

The invitation has been sent. We will get a notification that we can now access your Google Tag Manager account.

Removing Elfsight user

Once our work is complete, feel free to remove Elfsight user from the User Management list. Here is how you can do that.

1

Go to the Google Tag Manager homepage, select the account you want to revoke access from, and click ⚙️ next to it:

2
Navigate to the Admin tab → User Management:

3

Click on the action button (...) next to the Elfsight user and select Remove access:

4

Confirm by clicking on the Remove button:

All done! Elfsight user has been removed from your User Management list.

We only request access to your GTM account to work with our widgets; we don't interfere with anything else. Our developers are well-versed in GTM and bring a high level of skill and care to your site. Rest assured, your website is in capable hands 🙂
