Why my Social Feed is not being updated

In case you see that some of your newest posts are not displayed in the widget, the most general reason for that is the cache. Our Social Feed app uses cache to improve performance, however, this also causes the delay in displaying new posts in the widget.

LinkedIn 48 hours
Pinterest 6 hours
RSS 1 hour
TikTok 12 hours
Tumblr 6 hours

*Reduced cache time is available with a Social Feed Single App subscription or any Pack plan.

How caching works

The Social Feed widget uses caching to improve performance and reduce server load. Instead of fetching data from each platform every time a user browses your feed, the widget pulls posts at regular intervals and stores them in a cache.

Here’s a quick rundown:

  • Initial request: The first time the widget loads, it fetches data from the platforms and saves it in the cache.
  • Subsequent visits: For later visits, the widget loads posts from the cache, speeding up the display.
  • Cache expiration: After a set period, the cache expires, prompting the widget to request fresh data and update the cache.

This method improves user experience with faster load times and decreases the demand on servers.
