Why my Instagram Feed source doesn't work

Sometimes when you choose to connect your Instagram Feed widget using the Public Accounts & Hashtags type of connection, you may face the following error:

What causes this issue

First of all, you should check your Instagram account settings. Instagram allows its users to make their accounts private or to control the age of their Instagram content’s viewers by setting up a minimum age limit for their accounts.

If your account is private, only your Instagram followers can see your posts so the widget won't be able to fetch them.

Likewise, it happens when your account has age restrictions: only authorized Instagram users that are over the age you've set are allowed to view your posts.

To sum up, the Instagram Feed widgets with the Public Accounts & Hashtags type of connection chosen supports only public accounts without any access restrictions.

How to make it work

All you need to do is switch your Instagram account to public. To do that, please go to your profile settings → Settings and PrivacyAccount Privacy and change your account to Public.

If you need to remove a minimum age limit, please go to your profile settings, select Business or Creator depending on your profile type and delete the age limit. Please refer to the following article to see a detailed instruction - Set up a minimum age for your Instagram account.

Alternatively, you can connect your widget using My Personal Account or My Business Account types of connection as they support profiles with access restrictions. You can find out how to do so in this article - Step 1: Setting the source of your Instagram Feed.
